That, uh... that's alarming. I'm so sorry that this is something everyone
involved is experiencing. I'm sure that the person in question knows at
some level hates what they're doing but can't manage to supplant this
impulse. And I'm sure this terribly tramatic for you both.

I enjoy and admire Hesh's intelligence, and I enjoy the fact that he's
willing to follow his own vision rather than taking the easy route by doing
what everyone else does already. I PM'd him about this, but I really
admire the way he communicates; even in disagreement.

I really wanted to see what that curly mahogany was going to turn into

I'll miss you guys. All three of you are in my prayers.

Never met you or Hesh, but just in the short time here at the OLF I feel like I am losing a good friend.   Very sad news for me. Since I live in the Midwest, I hope I can meet you at one of the gatherings in the future and give you my personal thanks for your contributions and your spirit. Best wishes.

Truly a sad day and both of you will be missed! I suggest we all enter our bathrooms and have a moment of silence!

Best of luck to both of you!

Clearly, we will do whatever we can (as best we can, you know how easy it is to obscure your identity on the net) with respect to helping law enforcement or upholding any court order. I think that is the best course of action at this moment. Since this is going on both on and off the forum this is something beyond what we can deal with here. I think safety is the A#1 concern, and this needs to find its way to the criminal legal system.

Hesh/Lacey, best of luck in this situation. Keep Lance and I appraised of the progress and we will do whatever we can to help.

Not really. Most of us are on ISPs. Unless we block an entire ISP there is no way to realistically block an individual IP account. Plus there are many ways to spoof your IP address.

I don't know how feasible this would be, but how about a system where your login password had to be sent to a postal address, maybe this could stop people mascarading, and I'm sure no one genuine would object.RussellR38963.7368518518

It would be very easy to give a bogus postal address.

We know who the person is, that is not the problem.

The forum will never be the same with such a loss.
I hope there is some way this problem can be solved.
Stay safe. You will be missed.

Hesh & Lacey,
By all means take the appropriate actions, but don`t give up all hope.
Your personal safety and well being are worth more than any stash of zoot!
PM me for my personal address and we`ll stay in touch.
Best of luck to both of you.
Coe

This is so shocking and I'm just so angry that some devious person could affect someone's life so drastically.

Hesh and Lacey...I truly hope that you make every effort to bring the full extent of the law to stop this harrassment.

That said, I'll be in touch on a private basis. I'm not going to lose good friends because of this. Remember...you have a lot of brothers (and sisters)here who will stand behind you no matter where this leads.

Best wishes and hurry back as soon as possible.

I'm TOTALLY PO'd that this sort of thing is happening.
Hesh & Lacy are our family and it is hard to watch family go through something like this.

Lance & Brock, please do all you can to aid them in collecting whatever data you need to help them with any legal issues that may arise out of this.

Hesh & Lacy, I will be hoping for a resolution to this problem for your sakes. I too will keep in contact with you.

WOw, I agree with all that has been said here. I feel like I'm losing a friend.

(I'm having a hard time understanding how not posting here makes anyone more safe than posting. Can someone explain that to me?)

Steve, it doesn't make him safer per se, it just limits the harassment he has to wade through. He doesn't have to deal with annoying/threatening/harrassing PMs or possible hijacked threads. Nor will the individual, or us for that matter, know what Hesh is up to and somehow use it against him.

Agreed to most all of the above...I cannot imagine this is going to cost the OLF the two of you. Surely something can be done. If I can help personally, you have my email address; please get in touch.

If this is truly the end, I'd like to personally thank you Hesh for everything. Your posts are always some of the first I look for. I'll miss you, man.

Bill

I don't really want to see the OLF become like another luthier forum, but perhaps it would be useful to add a step or two to the registration process to screen people a little better. There also would be an argument for making the forum private so that the oft-discussed problem of "do we want players to be reading these conversations/seeing these prices" would be eliminated.
